They met, started dating, got engaged and became pregnant all at warp speed, so naturally insiders expected Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding to happen almost instantaneously. But something funny happened on the way to the altar: Months after their engagement, and the announcement of the pregnancy, no date has been set yet. What's the holdup?

"Part of Katie wants to get on with the wedding so that she and Tom can move forward with their life," a friend of the actress tells Star, "but another part of her wants to wait until after the baby is born, when she's back in shape."

HER DREAM WEDDING
Ever since she was a little girl, Katie, 26, has fantasized about saying "I do" in a traditional ceremony, say sources. "She's been thinking about her wedding for years, and she has always dreamed of walking down the aisle in a long white gown, with her friends and family present," reports the friend. "But now she looks more than six months pregnant, and Katie probably doesn't want wedding pictures that will remind her she put the cart before the horse. I think she would rather wait until she looks like a slim, pretty princess again."
